A rapid and effective apparatus to produce controllable amount of common gasses such as hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide etc. Comprising of three chambers, a lower acid reservoir with glass stopper, a central bulb to which stopcock is fitted, an upper bulb with a tapered tube extending downwards into the reservoir and a safety funnel. A separator prevents the solid reactant in the central bulb from falling into the reservoir.
This Kipp's apparatus moulded from polyethylene has three main portions. The top portion is fitted with a thistle funnel and a and a bulb structure through which dilute acids can be poured with reacts with metal sulphide in the base of the apparatus. Hydrogen sulphide gas than evolved collects in the middle dome from where it can be released through a leak proof stopcock fitted with a self lubricating PTFE plug. The base is provided with a residual outlet fitted with a cap for easy cleaning.
